Best Time To See Mt. Fuji

Mount Fuji is a majestic sight to behold, which is why it gets a lot of visitors every year. But to experience clear views of the stunning volcano, the best time to visit is during the colder months. You can visit from late autumn to early spring, particularly from November to February. They are often recommended as they tend to have more stable weather and less humidity. The following factors can also increase your chances of seeing the beautiful Mount Fuji.

  • Winter Months: From December to February, the air is usually crisp and dry, leading to clearer visibility. The colder temperatures may create a beautiful snow-capped peak, showing picturesque scenery.
  • Early Morning and Late Evening: Oftentimes, Mount Fuji is visible during early sunrise and late evening around sunset.
  • Avoid Rainy and Cloudy Days: Clouds and rain can obscure the view of Mount Fuji. It’s best to check the weather forecast to help you plan your days ahead.
  • Weekdays: There are more visitors on weekends, especially during the peak tourist season. Consider visiting on weekdays when there are fewer crowds and unobstructed views.
