5 Best Cairns Hotels with Swim-Up Bars

There aren’t too many hotels with swim-up bars in Cairns which is surprising. However, I did manage to find 5 that are worth checking out. Hopefully, it’s nice and sunny when you arrive! Before I show you the top hotels, here’s a quick overview.

Romantic Hotels with Swim-Up Bars

• Peppers Beach Club & Spa – Their One-Bedroom Penthouse has a private jacuzzi on the rooftop
• Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort – Suite have private jetted bathtubs. The resort is also in the perfect location in the heart of Cairns.

Family Hotels with Swim-Up Bars

• Fitzroy Island Resort – Two-Bedroom Suite is good for small families. For larger groups, they have a Penthouse Apartment. This resort is a great option if everyone enjoys snorkeling and water activities. 
• Peppers Beach Club & Spa – They have 2-3 Bedroom Suites with private spa baths for families. 

Luxury Cairns Hotels with Pool Bars

• Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa – A bit far from Cairns but worth the trip if you want peace. They have a beautiful pool bar serving a variety of cocktails. 
• Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns – This is one of the best hotels if you want water views from your room. Besides drinks and cocktails, their pool bar also has a food menu.

Cheapest Pool Bars

• Summer House Backpackers Cairns – from AU$140 per night. Great for backpackers.
• Gilligan’s Hotel & Resort Cairns – from AU$190 per night. Great hotel for pool parties and drinks. 

1. Peppers Beach Club & Spa

Being 5-star, you can expect to pay a bit, but it’s in a very good location in Palm Beach. The pool here is huge which makes the swim-up bar more enjoyable. If you can afford it, have a look at the penthouse as it has a private jacuzzi on the rooftop! Take a few drinks here and it’ll be better than the swim-up bar.

2. Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort

This resort is in one of the best locations in Cairns, just a short walk from the Esplanade. Clean pool, a nice man-made beach area, and more importantly an easily accessible swim-up bar. If you have a small family, the Deluxe Family Suite is a good option.

3. Cairns Colonial Club Resort

The rooms look fairly basic here. But if you’re not staying indoors much, then it won’t matter. Most of the fun is outside in the beautiful pool. They have a family-friendly poolside bar, a small sandy area, and plenty of deck chairs for guests.

4. Fitzroy Island Resort

If you don’t want to spend a fortune going to the Great Barrier Reef with one of those tour boats, this might be a good option. It’s the only resort on Fitzroy Island. There are some excellent snorkeling spots just off the resort. And if you need a rest, there’s a lovely pool with a swim-up bar. Just don’t expect the wi-fi to be great.

5. Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas

This resort is an hour’s drive from Cairn but it might be worth it. Certainly one of the more luxurious options on our list, you’ll love the new Lagoon House Pool Bar. Just remember that the rooms are quite pricey – over AU$500 per night.

• Guest Review: The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Although, parts of the resort looked tired and rundown.
