What a great way to spend a few hours. Not your usual boring museum! Our tour guide enthusiastically shared his stories about gangsters and how they shaped some of our businesses today. We enjoyed this tour, and recommend it highly. A wonderful way to learn about the stuff you hear about on the tv and see in the movies but don't really know much about.

The Fire Museum is a disused firehouse with a large number of classic firefighting vehicles, horse-powered and engine-powered, from bygone days. Unfortunately, there are not enough captions explaining the vehicles. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth a visit, and not exclusively for children. The surrounding neighborhoods, SoHo and the West Village, are fascinating. Great time and fun time for everyone!

The Time Warner Center is at Columbus Circle. A great location to stop in when in the park or just nearby. Whole Foods is located on the lower level with a variety of food and drink you can bring to an extensive seating area. Many shops and other restaurants are on the other floors. Be wary of crowds and noise.

The Statue of Liberty is a must visit place if you're in New York, but plan for the best part of a day and take in Ellis Island as well. They supply an audio tour of the grounds and well worth listening to. The water ferry is regular and you get spectacular skyline views of NYC. Be aware the queues coming off the island are big and may have to watch a couple of the ferry's come and go before you get on. Plan your visit to the Lady ahead.

Lots of very nicely maintained gardens in Brooklyn. Great walking paths in the garden with a wide variety of plants. Excellently maintained! The Bonsai trees are a must to see. A nice place to take the family for a few hours on an afternoon. It is so nice to see gardens like these in the city. They often exhibit some work of arts as an extra content.
