Banana Island is a not-to-be-missed destination in Coron. It's so beautiful that we wanted to stay longer - like one whole day. We stayed for two hours on the island for our lunch. We didn't go swimming rather my friends and I just took a rest on the hammock. The place is so relaxing with those native houses, coconut trees, sparkling water, and very fine sand. We almost fell into a deep slumber while on the hammock when our guide told us we needed to leave. One of the best islands! We took a tour package so everything, including the entrance fees, is handled by our guide. It was a hassle-free excursion.

After a two-hour flight and a sumptuous lunch, my friends and I badly needed time to recharge for our island hopping the following day. We're so glad that our day one itinerary included a visit to the Maquinit Hot Spring. Sadly, we spent to much time at Mt. Tapyas and before we knew it it was already dark. Even so, our guide was so nice and still took us to the spring. The area isn't well lit, so it was dim - we couldn't get good pictures but still we enjoyed the hot water. We only stayed for an hour since it was getting late. Tip: It is best to visit Maquinit Hot Spring in the afternoon (until sunset) to enjoy the hot spring and it's surrounding. The road towards the spring is a bit rough so just prepare yourself for a bumpy ride.

Having climbed a couple of mountains in Cebu with difficult trail, climbing Mt. Tapyas seemed easy. Was wrong; the 700 steps was tiring but worth it. Mt Tapyas can be easily recognised due to the huge cross standing on top of it. During our climb, my friends and I stopped once in a while to take photos of the views. When we reached the peak, we had a breathtaking view of the nearby islands. Our guide even named some of the islands and where the name came from. We stayed for an hour and decided to wait for the sunset. We enjoyed it much. Tip: Bring a bottle of water to hydrate yourself while climbing Mt. Tapyas.

The Siete Pecados was our first destination during our day-one excursion. It has a rich marine life which is why my two friends and I truly enjoyed snorkeling. Sadly, we didn't have an underwater camera during that time so we were not able to capture underwater photos. It's one of the most beautiful snorkeling spot in Coron. We spent almost an hour(or maybe an hour) in this spot. Simply breathtaking! Reminder: Be sure to take with you an underwater camera to take pictures of the habitat under the crystal clear water.

Barracuda Lake has a magical view - the blue water is enchanting. The surrounding was beautiful and it's a serene place - a perfect spot to relax for a bit on the boat. We reached the lake mid-afternoon so we were a little exhausted from swimming and snorkeling; however, many still dove into the lake. Our guide recommended to wear vests for safety and to be able to lie back and enjoy the limestone cliffs surrounding the lake. It's ideal for diving!
