Best Time To Visit

Cornwall UK Is a popular travel destination, known for its stunning coastline and beautiful beaches. The best times to visit depend on a variety of factors, but mainly your personal preferences. So, whether you’re looking for sunny beach days or a quiet spa holiday, consider the following when planning a trip.

  • Summer (June to August) – Summer is the peak tourist season in Cornwall. With longer days and warmer temperatures, it’s ideal for watersports and beach activities. It’s also a great time for exploring coastal towns and outdoor attractions.
  • Shoulder Seasons (March to May) (September & October) – These shoulder seasons offer milder weather, fewer crowds, and lower rates. Spring brings colour blooms and a variety of festivals. In the fall the colours turn and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed.
  • Winter (November to February) – Winter brings cooler temperatures and fewer tourists. It’s a great time for visiting museums and relaxing at the spa. It’s also the festive season with Christmas markets and holiday displays.

How To Get Around Cornwall

Cornwall is a fairly easy area to get around in, offering lots of pubic travel. That said, some services are less frequent in rural areas. Plus, Cornwall lacks motorways, so car travel may take longer than usual.

  • Rental Car – Getting a rental car is one of the best ways to explore Cornwall. With your own vehicle, you have the freedom to go wherever you want when you want.
  • Taxi – You’ll find taxi services all around the county, and they make a good option if you want to drink. Just make sure to book in advance, as there are often shortages. Plus, many taxis will only take cash.
  • Train – The train routes in Cornwall offer some of the most picturesque views and coastal vistas. All of the large towns are well connected, but things might get awkward for smaller locations.
  • Bus – Like taxis, buses are a good way to travel if you don’t want to get behind the wheel yourself. Just remember that services are more limited, so make sure to stick to your timetable. Some towns only get a couple of bus services a day, so be sure to plan around them.
  • Ferry & Boat – Some locations in Cornwall, such as offshore islands, are only accessible by boat. Plus, a boat or ferry ride between two coastal towns can be a fun, stunning way to traverse the area.
