Miami Beach sits atop a barrier island, across Biscayne Bay from downtown Miami. Famed for its Art Deco architecture and soft-sand beaches, the resort area attracts celebrities and affluent travelers. With myriad hotels to choose from, tracking down a beachfront hotel with ocean-view balconies can take a while. That’s why we have done the leg work for you! Below you can find a selection of Miami Beach’s finest hotels, each with options to enjoy ocean views from the privacy of your own balcony.

Oceanfront Balcony Suites for Couples

  • W South Beach – If you are planning a romantic break, W South Beach is a great choice. The split-level Mega Suite is perfect for seclusion. In addition to the private balcony, there’s a rooftop plunge pool with lovely views of the ocean.
  • Hotel Victor South Beach – The Hotel Victor, with its spa and Turkish-style bathhouse, is perfect for a relaxed and romantic break. The property has a beautiful pool area. Its Victoria Penthouse is even better than the Mega Suite at W South Beach. You’ll get a furnished rooftop terrace with ocean views that includes a jacuzzi.

Oceanfront Balcony Suites for Families

  • Faena Hotel Miami Beach – With easy access to sugar-soft sand and a superb pool, the Faena is a good option for families. They offer two to five-bedroom suites with multiple balconies overlooking the ocean.
  • W South Beach – W South Beach sits right on the beach and has plenty of activities to keep the family entertained. There are a number of Two-bedroom Suites, with many of the larger suites offering superb balcony views out to sea. The E-Wow Oceanfront Suite has three bedrooms for larger groups.

Miami Beach Areas

  • North – The northern area of Miami Beach is a little calmer than the bustling South Beach area. Surfside Beach and North Beach Oceanside Park help make it a family-friendly district. The oceanfront resorts here boast superb views of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Mid Beach – Mid-Beach is found in the central portion of Miami Beach, a short distance to the north of South Beach. While not as vibrant as South Beach, this district of Miami Beach is home to a wide range of hotels and resorts. It is popular with older travelers and visitors looking for a sun tan.
  • South – South Beach is renowned for its nightlife, shopping, Art Deco architecture, and superb restaurants. It can be a party neighborhood, especially around Spring Break. But it’s also a great area for a weekend beach escape with friends.

Things to Consider

  • Balcony Views – Miami Beach attracts an affluent crowd and many of the ocean-view balconies come at a premium. For the best views, the North Beach area gets the lion’s share of the praise. MB Hotel and the Four Seasons are good options here.
  • Beach Access – For ‘instant’ beach access, check out the Setai, the Carillon, and the W South Beach. The northern hotels tend to have quieter beach areas.
  • Airport Shuttles – Airport shuttles are not very common among Miami Beach hotels. It’s best to make your own arrangements.
  • Parking – Many Miami Beach properties have on-site parking, but it often comes with a high price per day. Cheaper options include the Monte Carlo, the Carillon, and the MB Hotel.

Most Affordable Oceanfront Suites

If you are traveling on a budget, you may want to check the North Beach hotels. They’re a little farther from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, but you get better value for money. Here are a couple of hotels worth checking out:

  • The Confidante Miami Beach – This hotel tends to have some good last-minute deals. Their Oceanfront King Rooms can go for as low as $340 USD per night sometimes.
  • MB Hotel – The Deluxe King Room with oceanfront balcony is available for around $255 USD per night during September. This is the end of hurricane season, so you will have to keep an eye on the weather too.
