  • Trams – Zurich trams, part of the ZVV network, are the easiest way to get around. You can buy single tickets or zone tickets, but the Zurich Card is the most convenient. With this card, you can enjoy 2nd class unlimited travel on trains and buses.
  • Buses – The Zurich public bus network includes late-night buses that operate outside the working hours of trains and trams. You must have a ticket before you board. Tickets can be bought from vending machines at bus stops or via the SBB Mobile app.
  • Trains – SBB is the Swiss national railway. It runs frequent connections to places within Zurich as well as towns and cities across the city. There are various types of tickets such as point-to-point, day travel cards, super saver tickets, and travel cards for further trips.
  • Taxis & Ride-Sharing Services – Taxi 444 are the most prominent taxi service in Zurich. They have a smart app for hailing and tracking your taxi, but Taxi-Zurich has an English service on its booking webpage. While Uber is always a popular option for rides in Zurich, another similar app is Bolt.
  • Bicycles – Zurich is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in Europe with an extensive cycling infrastructure. Züri Velo is an official bicycle-sharing network with its own smart app. There are various private rental options, but Donkey Bike is a European-wide network with an app. It’s one of the easier options to navigate in English.
