Koh Samui is Thailand’s second largest island and is found off the coast of the Kra Isthmus, in the Gulf of Thailand.
The landmark 12m high Big Buddha is the first thing you notice in Koh Samui. And very close by is the eye-catching Wat Plai Laem, with its numerous arms. On most day tours, you will see a novel temple, Wat Khunaram displaying a mummified monk, who died over 20 years ago. For families, the waterpark Coco Splash Adventure Water Park is the perfect day out on a warm day.
If you prefer day trips, go to the Secret Buddha Garden which is hidden in the forest with a stream and waterfall nearby. Another wonderful days outing can be had at Ang Thong National Park – a marine park of over 100 square km of water and 42 islands.
