It is hard to believe that this masterpiece was created by a human. It is so beautiful, so strange and so weightless. The master who created this temple refused to use government or investors money to be absolutely free in his expressions. And he was. Sometimes it looks even scaring with all sculls looking at you from the temple. Do not miss the free museum nearby with other original works of the master.

    Fantastic attraction

Wat Rong Khun, better known to foreigner as The White Temple is all white with fragments of mirrored glass embedded in its exterior. This is a contemporary masterpiece created by a Thai artist. The architecture remember a traditional Thai temple but all the decorations are astonishing beautiful.
All the inside is covered with murales and unexpected characters as Michael Jackson, Freddy Krueger, Harry Potter, Superman, and Hello Kitty are painted.
Don’t forget to visit the restroom near the temple, it’s a piece of art itself.

    Fantastic attraction

It is a unique white temple, you will never see somewhere else. The temple was included in our itinerary and it was only a 30 minutes drive from our hotel. We started morning itself to the temple and the design of the temple was amazing. The architectural design of the temple is entirely different from what we can expect from a Buddhist temple. There are restaurants, and coffee shops where you can have your breakfast.

I would call Wat Rong Khun the most unique temple in Thailand. I think that we all go through an “ok, I have seen all the temples in Thailand” after spending too much there, because they can become redundant after you have seen several of them. But this one is unique – it is a gorgeous sight and has sculptures everywhere you look – the most impressive art form I saw here are the human hands that reach up as though they are trying to escape hell. The gate to heaven is another great aspect, two statues wait for you as you walk inside the temple. There are many cafés and restaurants around for you to relax after viewing the temple. Thais enter free, but foreigners have to pay 50 baht (not much) to enter.

    Fantastic attraction

We couldn't avoid going on the weekend, so it was quite busy. On the other hand I don't know if going on any other weekday would make a difference as it seems to be a very popular attraction.
I personally loved it, could have stayed longer, but the driver was waiting for us. Lost track of time, so I can't say how much time we spent there exactly. Probably around an hour.
It is very unique being all white, since most of the temples in Thailand are very colorful (which is not a bad thing). It was a cloudy day when we visited, but when the sun came out, it made the temple sparkle – it was so gorgeous.
The white temple itself is the main attraction of course, but there are other interesting buildings to see. There was also the most beautiful (from the outside) restroom I have ever seen. Well worth a visit. Would love to go back someday.

    Fantastic attraction

We came here en route to Chiang Mai from our border crossing from Laos. This is one of the most unique and photogenic temples in the world! The outside is all white and the designs are super ornate. Inside the temple and around the grounds, there are various paintings and sculptural works of modern art. One of the more memorable sculptures is a pit of human-looking hands reaching up at you when you’re crossing the bridge. There were also Grateful Dead bears painted on the walls inside, which gave me a laugh. You could easily spend two hours here, and if you get hungry, there is a little walkway full of food stalls right outside the entrance.

    It was good

I loved this cute white temple. It’s not far from Chinag Rai and you can easily spend 2 hours there, walking around the park and taking pictures with the gorgeous architecture. It’s just sooo unique! I will definitely visit again!

    Fantastic attraction

This is a very beautiful temple. You can visit it if you book a bus from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, they will stop there for you. It is extremely busy and hard to get a good look but so stunning from the outside. There are other statues and bollards outside that are really interesting too

    Fantastic attraction

Such a beautiful place. Everything looks ivory but indeed it’s concrete painted white. Every single sculpture is amazing, and the hands that seem to be trying to escape from hell are shocking. It might get a bit creepy when you see evil skulls with whisky bottles beside them, but that’s ok. Totally worth it.
