A city in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai has ruins of ancient walls, and a large number of beautiful temples. With about 300 temples in the vicinity of Chiang Mai, there is no shortage of places to visit. The laid-back nature of the city, gives it a more relaxed attitude as you explore. Wat Cedi Liam Temple is a pagoda easily seen on the city skyline. Take a horse and carriage to the ruins of the ancient Wiang Kum Kam, an architectural wonder. Cheak out Wat Chiang Man, the first temple built in Chiang Mai.

Another popular trip from Chiang Mai is into the mountains around the city to visit some of the villages and get an insight into their tradition style of life. One such village is Doi Pui Mong. Alternatively, take a tour to Wat Rong Khun, the unique and beautiful white temple.
