    Great for souvenirs shopping

I love the sze chuan here – very authentic. Aside from the temples, you can also find a lot of stores selling souvenirs such as gems, cutlery, shirts and key chains at a good price. You can see from the buildings how much they preserved the history and facade.

    Fantastic attraction

I loved Chinatown Singapore! So many different shops and food stalls we literally had to make time to ensure that we tasted as many food items as possible! There is a good food court here with a large variety and very cheap. There was also a large queue for one particular shop selling Bakkwa (Chinese salty pork meat, similar to a Jerky). We just joined the queue as we thought there must be something good at the end of it and we were not disappointed.
We visited Singapore during Chinese new year so China town was in full swing with performances and decorations.

    Fantastic attraction

Visited Chinatown with my friends and family during Chinese New Year. A variety of Chinese food was available at budget friendly prices. Lots of souvenirs to choose from and many offer bargained prices when buying in bulk.

The markets there are huge and really cheap for Singapore. Definitely go there for some Chinese food! Great spot for souvenir hunters.

    Fantastic attraction

A historical quarter set against the backdrop of modern Singapore. Finding food is your number one priority here as its home to some of the best hawkers in the city. Bargain hunting comes next. If you’re looking for unique gifts for relatives back home, this is the place. Photography comes next. Chinatown is photogenic so get your instagram account ready. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, soak in the culture. Chinatown is home to Sri Mariamman hindu temple and the (relatively new) Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

    It was good

China Town is one of my favourite places in Singapore. I had the opportunity to be there at Chinese New Year, and it was a feast of colours, sounds, lion dances, people and amazing hawker food. I had delicious kway teow and took many wonderful photographs to bring home.

Visit smith street food centre (located on level 2) for cheap and good local food. Try steamed fish with black bean sauce! The street vendors also serve pretty authentic nyonya peranakan kuehs. Remember to bargain if you are buying touristy stuff like ornaments, trinkets, t-shirts, clothes etc. Come during CNY or Mid Autumn festival to see the grand light up!

    Fantastic attraction

What a great place! I loved China Town. It is a place for the senses. The aromas, the colours, the atmosphere… The food is always fantastic. I love the food here.

There are several temples in China Town to visit, among other things. The markets are always worth a visit, too, even if you’re not planning on buying anything. There is always something interesting to see. Be sure to be well rested when going to China Town. One can easily wander about for hours and not notice the time.

    Fantastic attraction

One of the best places in Singapore when it comes to good food. If you are into Chinese cuisine, this place is a must go. Do not be afraid to stray out of the tourist-packed streets as many of the alleys and the outskirts offer some real good food and shops too!

    It was good

The moment you step out of the MRT station, you will be greeted with rows and rows of souvenirs stores. There is an Archie store where I bough some of my Archie memorabilia from.

Another shopping haven for tourists is Chinatown. Singapore souvenir items such as Singapore shirts, keychains, fridge magnets, display clocks, etc. are all over the place. Once shopping is done, feed your hungry stomach with local foods.

Chinatown is a great place to stroll around and get lost in sights, sounds, and smells. It is also a good spot to buy souvenirs or gifts to bring home. You can find pretty much anything here, including clothing, decorations, accessories, and food. This historic area can feel overwhelming, but it’s a must when in Singapore. Plan a good chunk of your day to get the most out of your visit.

Prepare your walking shoes if your are visiting this place. The shop houses and tent shops are worth every seat and muscle pain. It is mainly a place for shopping but restaurants that sell Singha or Tiger beer are also around the area for the thirsty souls. There are also a lot of food choices to choose from especially if you are looking for a legitimate Southeast Asian street food experience.

For me, visiting a city’s China town is always a good idea. Burning incense sticks in a temple, eating Chinese food, shopping for cheap merchandise and exotic stuff like herbs for medicines, going through crowds – these are the things to expect in this area. I’ve been to several China towns before getting to visit this one in Singapore, which is probably the reason why I find the experience not as exciting anymore. However, if it’s your first time, this place has its unique charm., and it will definitely add color to your Singapore experience.

What I like about China town is I can enjoy both Chinese and local food delights in one place. You can buy cheap Chinese merchandise and souvenirs there also. It’s a bit crowded but you can enjoy walking along the Chinatown Street, shop, eat and taste the local delicacy.

No visit to Singapore is complete without visiting bustling Chinatown to learn about one of the several cultures found in the city. We went there mainly to visit some shops that specialize in selling exclusive fishing rods and tackle for fly-fishing fanatics, but thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our visit and bought lots of gifts to take home.

    Fantastic attraction

Defintely a must-visit in Singapore. Behind all those city lights and modern skyscrapers, Chinatown brings a nice touch of olden day heritage and culture. Lots of good and cheap local food and beverages to have a taste of Singapire as well as affordable and memoriable souvenirs to gift friends and family.

Great place for cheap food sold in hawker stalls and touristy souvenirs (key chains, fridge magnets, shirts). Be sure to visit Chinatown Heritage Centre to learn about the history of Chinatown.

    Fantastic attraction

A unique cultural adventure in the heart of the city. I am a fan of chinese food and the restaurants within this are certainly did not disappoint. There are fewer attractions here than in other areas in Singappore but coming here for attractions is defintely the wrong mindset. You should come here to immerse yourself in the culture of the Chinese people. The people, their language and their customs are THE attractions here. Recognizing the beauty of the culture of the Chinese people is the point of visiting Chinatown. Truly, my visit here was very enlightening, as I saw the Chinese people in a new light that made me want to visit Mainland China for the complete experience.
