A famous landmark of Singapore. There are two, one is at Sentosa and another near Fullerton Hotel. The one here (at Sentosa) is much bigger and has more going on as compare to the other. The area surrounding this Merlion statue is a gorgeous Gaudi-style (water) fountain and many other thrilling attractioins. The only down-side would be getting there. You can either opt for the fastest route via the monorail to Imbiah station ($4), bus RWS 8 ($2) or take a long walk into the island (Sentosa) via the Boardwalk ($1 or less). Bus ride and walking would require additional searching to reach the Merlion attraction.

I am keen to see the statue during my visit to Singapore. Simply because the famous Merlion is the national landmark. And the visit did not disappoint as well. There is much attraction in the Sentosa as well you will get more in one go.

    Fantastic attraction

Our Singapore vacation started visiting the famous landmark The Merlion. It is the symbol of Singapore. From there you can view the Hotel Marina Bay. Two small merlion is at the park where you can take pictures. Its a must see attraction and there are several cafe and restaurants where you can eat something. From the shops, you can buy the Merlion symbol which remains a little expensive.

Extremely happy that I got the chance to visit the Merlion during my short stay in Singapore. Great for taking photos with the Merlion in the background. Although, it was extremely crowded with tourists all taking photos, but I was still able to get an amazing shot.

    Fantastic attraction

The Merlion is one the most famous landmarks in Singapore but sadly it ends up very crowded with tourists, school groups and kids at peak times so it’s best to consider when you choose to visit. Either way, the area is really beautiful and there is a lot to see and take photos of whilst you are here including the Marina Bay Sands and the rest of the harbour. You can take a bus to one of the stops nearby and walk down to the water or you can take the train to the Raffles Place MRT Station.

It would be criminal if you visit Singapore and do not take a picture at the famous Merlion. No matter how common it is, the picture with you, water and Merlion would always be entertaining and enjoyable to anybody. Wait for a little longer till the sunset to enjoy the Marina Bay.

A well designed tourist trap. There’s a wonderful view from the top but that’s about it. There is no real historical or architectural significance. You’ll likely have a good time if you go, but if you’re pressed for time… skip it. As symbols of Singapore’s nationalism go… I prefer the merloin at the mouth of the Singapore river.

The iconic Merlion! It’s quite hard not take a picture with it since it is symbolic to Singapore. One of those customary travel sites that you must visit and take a picture with.

A trip to Singapore would not be complete without seeing the Merlion! This statue is the icon that represents Singapore and probably the most popular tourist attraction in the travel brochures. It is also a great place to view the Marina Bay Complex and the financial district. The view of the Marina Bay at night was fantastic, and there are also lots of cafes and restaurants lining the waterfront.

My Singapore trip would have been incomplete without a visit to this coveted tourist attraction. There is nothing much to do here but you can spend countless hours taking pictures and gazing at the beautiful Merlion which is now an icon in Singapore. Although we visited this place during daytime, I recommend that you come here in the evening as the surroundings look lovely when it is all lit up.

The most important picture that you must take on your travel to Singapore. A picture with the Merlion is the cherry on top in every SG trip. Most especially if it is your first time.

After the selfies, there are also nearby hawkers that you can check out.

    Fantastic attraction

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Singapore is the Merlion. It is among the most visited spots and is a sight to behold. We got a good view from the viewing spot which is at the mouth of the Merlion. A picture with the Merlion in the background is the true souvenir of a trip to Singapore.

One of the main attraction of Singapore. You’ve never been to Singapore unless you have a picture with the Merlion. The good news? It’s free and easy to find (right next to One Fullerton). Additionally, it’s got a great view of the bay. It’s a pretty symbolic statue here. And there is a neat dock that goes into the water so that you can try and get a good picture.

    Fantastic attraction

You’ve never been to Singapore unless you have a picture with The Merlion. Paris has the Eiffel Tower, New York has the Statue of Liberty, Singapore has The Merlion. There’s nothing much to do here except for taking a lot of pictures with the scenic background. But that should not stop you from visiting this monument as missing it is like going to Egypt without seeing the pyramids. This is Singapore’s icon so you should not miss it. Besides, it is just a few minutes away from other attractions within Sentosa, including the Universal Studios so make sure to pay it a visit.
