    It was good

Nice place to walk around, the staircase to the temple is quite a challenge. In my option, it is just like most of the Chinese temple, not really that impressive, but the view is very nice. I probably would not want to visit there again.

    Fantastic attraction

Very nice view once you reach the top. It’s a good trip outside of the usual Hong Kong destinations (like amusement parks). Riding the cable car might seem scary but the view is overwhelming going to Lantau Island.

    Fantastic attraction

Great Buddha and good exercise! 🙂

Nice thing to do from either the city or the airport (when you have a +5 hour stop over or before you fly). The drive is great and the cable care even better, but much more expensive, for the scenic views when you go to the Buddha. Take your time and watch your steps (uphill)! The Buddha and surrounding statues are very nice.

A really beautiful and scenic island, the statues are incredible. It is a bit of mission to get there – we went by cable car and then walking which was a little windy and terrifying but worth it

    Fantastic attraction

Exploring Lantau was one of my favourite things in Hong Kong. The Po Lin Monastery, The Big Buddha and the Ngong Pin Village were all amazing.

    Fantastic attraction

One of the largest Buddha statues in the world, making it a beautiful and truly wonderful experience. It is a lot of flight of stairs to go up, but truly worth it. You learn a little about Buddhism and get to see many other slightly smaller statues of important figures. There’s also the monastery where you can buy incense and pray for good fortune and health etc. It’s a very spiritual experience!

    Fantastic attraction

First, it will be an exhausting but amazing experience. We took the cable car to the island, it was pretty windy, a bit scary! (Bus is the cheaper way to get there but you pay for the view on the cable car.) To visit the big Buddha, you need to walk up the hundreds of stairs (yes! to show your dedication!) But you know what, it’s totally worth the effort. The view upstair is gorgeous, and the Buddha is so peaceful and serene.
We have booked for the vegetarian lunch there as well! Lovely!

    Fantastic attraction

A good hiking spot! You would be astonished by the magnificent Tian Tan buddha statue. Also, the vegetarian food there cannot be missed. Although there are a lot of vegetarian restaurants in Hong Kong, hving the food in the religious atmosphere is a really interesting and special experience.

    Fantastic attraction

Po Lin Monastery is a popular attraction in Lantau island where people can pray and worship. The exterior is well decorated and the interior is really impressive particularly the ceilings.

    Fantastic attraction

Po Lin Monastery is the best place to visit if you want to experience the buddhist culture. To see the buddha. And it is very fulfilling to reach at the top of the Big Buddha. Walking up on hundred steps. It’s kinda tiring but what awaits on the top is more than enough. The Big Buddha, the overlooking view and that fulfilling feeling. This is one of the places you can visit when riding the cable car.

If you’re up for some exercise with your sightseeing, this is a great destination to go. There are a lot of stairs leading up to the statue, but it’s awesome when you finally reach the top. It’s a nice area to walk around in, as well! It’s also free too, which is great for travelers on a budget!! 🙂

Po Lin has a beautiful hilltop location on the quiet island of Lantau. Dominated by the Big Buddha statue, it also has a monastery, vegetarian restaurants and an array of shops. The views out over the surrounding area are breathtaking and the clean air is relaxing.
You can go by bus or cable car but it’s also possible to hike up (or down from) Po Lin – there’s also a simple hiking trail which goes around its perimeter.

    It was good

The monastery is very peaceful. It is a place to offer prayers and incense. There is also a restaurant there that serves vegetarian lunch. The food was ok, a nice change from the normal meat dishes I was used to. If you don’t like vegetables, there are other restaurants in the nearby Ngong Ping Village.

    Fantastic attraction

This is a very old monastery and I felt it from the first second of being inside. The atmosphere is super mysterious. You don’t need to pay for entering, but a donation is always welcome. Better to visit it in the morning from 10 to 12. It’s not far from Big Budda.
