Visiting Ngong Ping Village is a pleasant experience especially if you want to take a break from the bustling city of Hong Kong without going too far away. There are a lot of shops but most of the products are expensive. I went there in October 2017 with my family and there was this short performance on the stage by the cable car station at around 4pm.

    Fantastic attraction

Ngong Ping village is within Lantau Island. We reached here by cable car and there are a lot of shops where you can buy for items and food. It’s basically where the cable car will stop. There are some entertainment or shows that tourist can see. This is like the touristy place of the area. I remember seeing a Starbucks shop within the village.

    Fantastic attraction

Ngong Ping Village is one of the famous tourist spots in Hong Kong. Most tourists come here via the cable cars as the view going to Lantau Island is a nice experience. Tourists also come here before going up the Big Buddha. They have shops as well where one can buy their souvenirs but I found them a bit expensive.

Ngong Ping Village is basically a stop over before the more famous Big Buddha and the Ngong Ping Cable Car. You can get a good side view of the famous Tian Tan Buddha and it also serves as the main terminus for the exciting cable car ride. This village does need extra time out of your itinerary, as this village has new attractions like the Monkey’s Tale Theatre, Walking with the Buddha and various souvenir shops.

    Fantastic attraction

A different experience away from the hustle bustle of the city. The village is beautiful with large promenades leading to the Big Buddha. There are several shops lining the streets of the village and i picked up a lot of souvenirs from there.

Would recommend a visit to this idyllic village.

This is one of the top tourist attractions in Hong Kong. Aside from the Big Buddha, if you’re up for some more walking, you can trek to the Wisdom Path. The place is very serene and has a nice view. There are wooden steles with calligraphy of prayer verses. You should visit this place!
