#1. Parliament Square – located in the downtown area of Nassau, this traditional center for government officials of Bahamas is also a good place to visit. You will be able to witness superb colonial architecture which can be dated from 1800s. The statue of Queen Victoria makes this place more majestic. You will never regret being in the place, for sure.
#2. Fort Fincastle – Lord Dunmore was the one to have this place built in 1793. The name was taken from his second title–Viscount Fincastle. It overlooks the town from the top of Bennet’s Hill where it was built and it is just another spectacular spot to witness the peaceful streets of the Bahamas. Fort Fincastle holds a history which no other places in Bahamas hold especially during the war. You can join one of the scheduled tours from Monday through Sunday at 8 A.M. to 3 P.M.
#3. Mount Alvernia – it is the highest point in the country at 206 feet above the sea level, located in Cat Island. The name was given by an English catholic priest John Hawes who built a hermitage at its peak. Today, the hermitage is just one of the most beautiful places to witness time pass by the Bahamas. Aside from that, the hermitage at the peak of Mount Alvernia is perfect for photo shootouts.
#4. Lucayan National Park – this park is known to be the home of the world’s longest underwater cave systems. You may be able to explore these caves; however, cave divers will go with you as well as Underwater Explorer’s Society of the park to ensure safety. Lucayan National Park has become of the top tourist attractions in the Bahamas.
#5. Clarence Town – it is a small town yet the capital of Long Island in Bahamas. Though smaller than other towns, the place would be a perfect getaway if you want to enjoy a peaceful, natural vacation. The town is safe and has very low crime rate which is evident that people in the place are nice especially for vacationers and travelers.
#6. Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park – the spectacular views of the place will definitely give you a peace of mind while you are sunbathing on its pristine beaches. The water is always clear and tempting. Either you want to go swimming or simply smell the fresh breeze from the ocean, you will still enjoy in the place. The place is protected and reserved so you can ensure safety and cleanliness.
#7. San Salvador – if you are looking for a place which is best for snorkeling, this island is your best choice. You will be able to witness shallow reefs and you will never need any scuba equipment. The white sand beaches and clear seawater are irresistible. The Gerace Research Center is located within the island; it caters students’ facilities for marine life, biological and archeological researches.
#8. Pink Sands Beach – if you haven’t been to the place, you will be struck in awe when you’re there. The place is clean and neat conducive for family picnics or other gatherings on the beach. The thing is, they do not call the place Pink Sands for no reason at all. True enough, the sands are colored pale pink especially under the heat of the sand and the background of clean, blue water in the ocean which surrounds it. It’s amazing, really.
#9. Great Guana Cay – this is the place where unspoiled marine lives dwell. Snorkeling and diving can be done in the clear blue waters of the place. The sand is soft with its coral texture which runs miles and miles long, thus, you can enjoy a graceful stride whenever you want. Jogging in the morning is one of the things that tourists do in Guana Cay beach. A lot of good things and sceneries await you here.
#10. Andros Island – if there is a least explored place in the Bahamas that would be the Andros Island. The fact is, it is the largest of all islands in the Bahamas yet it is more preserved since it holds a lot of things that tourists and travelers look to enjoy. It is a home to Andros Barrier Reef, world’s third largest coral reef, and Blue hole, the world’s deepest underwater cave.
