1.) The Tower of London–This famous tourist spot today was once a fortress and a royal palace.  It is considered the oldest palace in Europe and in the world. Its existence has been incorporated in the long history of England.

2.) Big Ben–The name of this popular tourist attraction does not actually refer to the clock but to the thirteen-ton bell that sounds off on the hour. There has been an unconfirmed source for the name, one of which is coming from a popular heavyweight boxer named Benjamin Caunt.

3.) Bath–Located in the Somerset countryside, this amazing city was the site of the ancient Roman baths or hot springs about 2000 years ago. There are 24-hour entertainments in this vibrant city so you can maximize your time while you are here.

4.) Houses of Parliament–Also known as The Palace of Westminster, this complex also incorporate The House of Lords, Westminster Hall, and The House of Commons. There are readily available guided tours for tourists interested to take a tour of the building or view the gallery.

5.) Stonehenge–This site is a popular worldwide attraction that draws thousands of tourists every year. It never fails to amaze its visitors. This prehistoric monument is located in Wiltshire and is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

6.) Windsor Castle–This site is the oldest standing and occupied castle to date. It is the official residence of the Queen of England. Its history can be traced back about a millennium ago.

7.) Wimbledon–Situated southwest of Charing Cross, this suburb of London is known all over the world as the home of the famous Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Aside from the obvious attraction due to the game held there, the place has good restaurants and cafes to offer to tourists.

8.) Westminster Abbey–If you are looking for the best example of Gothic architecture, then this spot is the perfect choice. The abbey was the traditional burial place of English Monarchs.

9.) Kew Gardens–Also called as the Royal Botanic Gardens, this tourist site is considered one of the world’s leading botanic gardens. Situated about 10 kilometers from Central London and beside the River Thames, Kew Gardens has an amazing 300 acres of landscaped gardens.

10.) The Lake District–Popularly known as The Lakes or Lakeland, the Lake District is a perfect holiday destination due to its serene lakes.  This area was the subject of some of the popular poems in the 19th century and in the writings of William Wordsworth.
