New Zealand is becoming popular to be one of the tourists’ favorite places to visit because of natural beauty which is apparent in the place. The government of the place is also becoming more concerned in accommodating those travelers which is why it is starting to transform New Zealand into an eco-tourism country. Naturally, the place is clean with fresh air and breezes which you can experience every single day of your stay. Thus, vacation will be much more exciting together with your family. Speaking of which, New Zealand also offers good parks for the whole family to stay; in fact, it has five National Parks you can choose from.

#1. Whanganui National Park – it is rich in Maori and colonial history. This 74,231-hectare park outlines the Whanganui River and connects the areas of Crown land and other forest reserves. The irony is that, the river itself is not a part of this park but it is named after the river.

You can never finish the place strolling in just a day. In fact, hiking is simply out of season in the place. However, you will surely enjoy some activities offered tourism operators which include mountain biking, trail biking, hunting, scenic rail, and camping

#2. Abel Tasman National Park – considered being the baby of all New Zealand’s National Parks at 225.3 square kilometers only. Established in 1942, this park is now becoming fully-furnished to cater the needs of tourists and travelers, campers and hikers, and family vacationers.

Being one of the National Parks, it is well-maintained by the Department of Conservation to pass the world standard of being one of the tourist attractions in New Zealand. Hiking, biking and camping are the famous activities you can experience in Abel Tasman National Park.

#3. Tongariro National Park – it is the oldest of all New Zealand’s national parks. Founded in 1887, this park is set in the central North Island of the country. Being old enough, it has established so well that it became the fourth most established national parks in the whole world. Having the area of 795.98 square kilometer, it becomes the home of three active volcanic mountains; Ngauruhoe,  Ruapeho and Tongariru.

This park does hold a reputation of being naturally beautiful, so it is well-maintained. Though clean enough, there will be times which you can smell sulfur because of the active volcanoes which are located right in the center of the park. However, they cannot stop the enjoyment of the hikers and campers especially at night.

#4. Westland Tai Poutini National Park – this park has been founded on 1960 with the area of 1,175 square kilometers and extends from the highest peak in Southern Alps to the remote coastline. You will be able to find dense temperate rainforest, scenic lakes, glaciers and the remains of gold mining facility near the coastline.

The Department of Conservation makes it a point to maintain the natural beauty of this national park. If you are fond of hunting, this park allow hunting opportunities for Chamois, Red Deer and Tahr. It also has helicopter access to the remotest rugged mountain areas.

#5. Fiordland National Park – now this one is the largest of all national parks of New Zealand and it occupies the entire southwest corner of South Island with an area of 12,500 square kilometers. Founded in 1952, the Department of Conservation never ceased to maintain the beauty of the place.

You will never get bored when you are in the place as there are a lot of activities held for tourists and travelers, or even families who want to spend their weekends and holidays nature-tripping. Fiordland National Park offers Alps climbing and tramping. So, if you are fond of these highly adventurous activities, feel free to do so. If not, hiking and biking would be best for you.
